This New York bride and groom originally met in a train station in England as college students traveling across Europe on a summer study abroad program. By the end of the summer, Jennifer and Matthew were an item but each of them returned to their college campuses – Matthew to the University of Michigan and Jennifer to the University of Texas. Initially there were occasional letters and phone calls to each other. As time passed those phones calls became more frequent and ended up turning into weekly emails and phone calls. After graduation, Jennifer moved to New York City to purse her career and one year later, as fate would have it, Matthew followed. They dated for four years in New York before Matthew popped the question one night in Manhattan.
The couple decided to marry in Dallas, the bride’s hometown and found Marie Gabrielle Restaurant and Gardens. The European style gardens reminded the bride of the place where they fell in love while traveling in Europe. Jennifer and Matthew exchanged their vows under the trees in the garden with rose petals scattered along the aisle. Floral decor in shades of pinks and coral contrasted with the dark brown wrought iron and leather chairs. Fete des Fleurs designed the bride’s bouquet with an assortment of dahlias and roses in pinks and citrus-tinged coral florals.

On this Fourth of July weekend, the bride and groom and their family and friends celebrated the evening away by dancing to the music of their party band, The Project. Guests enjoyed a robata bar where shrimp and salmon were grilled on heated stones and a feasted over an Asian noodle bar, among other items. Jennifer and Matthew made their grand exit from Marie Gabrielle Restaurant with a crowd of lit sparklers, while The Project’s horn players played “New York, New York” (Kander-Ebb).
