Brooke and Josh’s Big Texas Wedding at the Gaylord Texan Resort

Brooke McKibben and Josh Adams knew they wanted a wedding that felt Texan, comfortable and not too stiff and formal. They accomplished that with their wedding day at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. It was the perfect spot for their Texas wedding ceremony and reception and 450 guests to celebrate their day.  With eight months to plan this event, they enlisted the help of wedding planner, Karol Welsh, of Dallas Wedding Planner and the planning was put into full gear.

The ceremony was decorated with gold chivari chairs with lamour silk ties, hundreds of white candles and tall arrangements of long stemmed white callas.  The guests enjoyed the music of a professional string quartet and pianist, Gyros String Quartet. The bride entered the room on her father’s arm to “Love of My Life”, the song which was playing when the groom proposed. A family friend and minister, Dennis Rainey, officiated the ceremony which included vows written by the couple. The sweetest and most touching part of the wedding ceremony was when the bride and groom, signed a marriage covenant sealing the vows they had taken.  Along with the couple, family members and friends signed the covenant.

The guests enjoyed a cocktail hour filled with mojitos and watermelon maragaritas. The bride kicked off her high heals and changed into her cowboy boots and was ready to party for the rest of the evening.  The evening included a four course meal, catered by the Gaylord Texan, consisting of brandy lobster bisque, baby mizuna and burgundy poached pear salad and and an entree of pan-seared filet mignon and saffron glazed grilled prawns.  The guests completed the meal with a white cake with walnuts and coconut, the groom’s cowboy-style carrot cake and belgian chocolate and fruit.

After toasting and a much packed dance floor, the bride and groom finished off their special day with a grand send off with sparklers and then slid into a white Cadillac limo with a Texas-size longhorn hood ornament to top off their Texas wedding.
