Do you find time in your busy schedule to read numerous wedding blogs? Honestly, you could spend the entire day looking at wedding websites and blogs if you had nothing else to do.
On Build a Better Blog they made a good list of smart ways to use comments on other blogs and I wanted to share them with you.
- Make sure you write something meaningful in the body of your comments
- Don’t just say ‘nice post’ then start talking about yourself and your stuff
- Contribute something new to the conversation
- Stimulate readers to think and stir things up if you can
- Always be respectful but don’t hesitate to express a different viewpoint
- Leave your real name, real email, and blog URL in the comments section where you are asked for them
With more and more blogs popping up every day, there is more discussion these days regarding blog etiquette. Someone told me about “lurking” – reading a blog and not commenting. I have never thought that just reading a blog and not commenting was wrong. Some people think blogging is just about writing and if people want to comment then that is great too. Some people consider it rude to read and not comment. Some people benefit a great deal from a discussion without ever offering to enrich it with their own information or idea.
Dallas Wedding Planner says if you read… try to comment. It encourages the blogger, engages conversation, and is courteous!
Tell me, what do you think?
What are you reading and are you making a comment or not? Do you have a favorite blog that you like to comment on?
