Today we are excited to share this company with you, Birdcage Veils.

Here’s our interview with Melody Ginn of Birdcage Veils.

How did you get started with birdcage veils?

The birdcage veil brings a new but vintage look to the fashion of wedding attire.  Designer, Melody Ginn of birdcageveils.com, myweddingveil.com, and hatveils.com, was one of the first to offer the birdcage veil to brides.  Reese Witherspoon wore a birdcage veil in the movie ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ in 2002.  According to Melody, in 2004 a bride requested for her to design a birdcage veil just like the one Reese wore in the movie.  Not having the materials, she searched and finally located a netting source which could help her duplicate this unique look.

Following the new success and posting some photos on her web site, a few brave brides decided to step out of the traditional attire and walk down the aisle wearing netting instead of tulle over their face.  Naturally, grooms, bridesmaids and families’ reaction was mixed as they had not seen this bold new style.  Traditional fashion veils have slowly given way to French and Russian net birdcage veils which are often referred to as, ‘bold, unique, classy, sassy and stunning’ as brides enter the room.  Brides found it popular to discuss their feelings about this new style of wedding veil on chat rooms, message boards and forums.

Where does the majority of your brides come from – locally in Texas or all over?

Once a few brides began wearing birdcage veils, brides from both the east and west coast liked what they saw and began requesting birdcage veils more and more.  Requests from the United Kingdom, Canada and Australia seemed to be next to request this unique new style.   Melody has now shipped birdcage veils to every state and to about 25 countries across the globe.

Do you have any tips for helping a bride decide on which look would go best with her wedding gown once she has decided to wear a birdcage veil?

Melody states that birdcage veils or hat veils work best with trumpet or mermaid style dresses.  Any dress that is lace is complimented with the French net look of a birdcage veil.

As this chic look is catching on, are you seeing more brides willing to step away from the traditional veil and do a stylish birdcage veil?

Each year, the birdcage veil takes on more popularity in bridal fashion and is accepted world-wide.  Melody’s business has grown steadily every year and receives more requests for birdcage than traditional veils.  While understanding the elegance of the traditional wedding veil will always be the in style, she also believes the birdcage veil will share many more years of success as the numbers of requests has only increased every month over the past four years. It is popular and trendy and grabs dramatic photos of a bride.  According to the comments Melody receives, photographers love shooting pictures of brides in birdcage veils.  Her web sites are full of photos which brides have shared with her along with their praises of her quality, pricing and customer service.

The birdcage can be a simple or as dramatic look as the bride wants.  You will capture romantic dramatic art with this style.  She is constantly adding new designs to her line and welcomes the bride’s ideas in designing her own veil.

Brides can order their veil online but transactions are normally completed by Melody taking time to talk to or correspond by email to each bride to personally insure they are getting exactly what they want.  This personal touch is important to her as is seen in comments from those she has sold veils to.

Way to go Melody.  These are all fabulous. You did an awesome job.  Each of these brides look beautiful.Dallas brides, be sure to check out the birdcage veils and hat veils from Melody Ginn, owner of BirdcageVeils.com and 000000;">MyWeddingVeil.com.

Even with her success, Melody will chat with you on the phone, remember your name and veil style. Working with her is a huge relief amongst the craziness of most wedding vendors. I CANNOT wait to see the piece that she has created for me.
